Prior to completing this Osborne Rail had received a quote from a specialist contractor to supply and fix purpose made soffit panels and flashings to the underside of the Platform canopy. This far exceeded Network Rails budget and we were asked to supply a similar specification at a more economical price.
The soffit on the canopy was made up of purpose made individual panels in Polyester powder coated aluminium.
Because measurements could only be taken at night, we arranged with our supplier to supply the dimensions to them the following day and they manufactured them within 24 hours so we could collect and get them installed on the next night shift without this agreement the programme would have been unobtainable.
