This project involves the removal of an existing mastic asphalt surface and the installation of a high-performance waterproofing and paving system using 10mm GuaraFLEX R and 25mm GuaraFLEX P. The works will deliver a modern, durable, and fully waterproof surface suitable for vehicular and pedestrian traffic, including light and heavy commercial vehicles.

The finished system will provide long-term protection, improved durability, and compliance with relevant structural and safety standards, while maintaining a seamless, monolithic finish.

Scope of Works

Removal Phase

  • Careful stripping and disposal of existing mastic asphalt
  • Preparation and inspection of the exposed substrate
  • Ensuring surface is clean, dry, and suitable for new application

Installation Phase

Layer 1: GuaraFLEX R

  • Installed using techniques consistent with mastic asphalt practices outlined in BS 8218:1998
  • Functions as a waterproofing and bonding layer
  • Provides a continuous, seamless membrane

Layer 2: GuaraFLEX P

  • Polymer-modified asphalt waterproofing and paving system
  • Designed for elevated decks and high-traffic areas
  • Composed of asphalt cement with graded limestone aggregate
  • Installed as the wearing surface for cars, light commercial vehicles, and heavy goods vehicles
