Gable Rail played a key role in the renovation of the platforms at Havant Railway Station, Hampshire. The project involved the comprehensive strip and re-sheet of the platform canopies, revitalising the station’s appearance and ensuring its long-term durability. These works required precision and expertise to preserve the functionality of the station while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment throughout the process.
The asbestos cement sheets were removed and disposed of under the Health & Safety & Environmental regulations. The new roof was comprised of Grey coloured profiled aluminium roof sheets with purpose made flashings and a Mansafe Latchway roof safety system.
As part of the renovation, Gable Rail also designed and installed a state-of-the-art fall protection system. This critical safety feature ensures that maintenance operatives remain secure while working at height on the canopies. The system not only meets current safety standards but also provides a robust solution for future maintenance needs, reflecting Gable Rail’s commitment to delivering quality and safety in all aspects of their work. This project highlights their ability to execute complex rail infrastructure upgrades seamlessly, enhancing both the functionality and safety of the station.
